Alaska Geothermal Conference

The 2009 Alaska Geothermal Conference was held April 28-30, 2009, at Chena Hot Springs Resort near Fairbanks, Alaska. The Conference featured tours of the geothermal power plant installed at Chena, which utilizes the lowest temperature geothermal resources (160°) used for power generation in the world, geothermal greenhouse tours, and a reception in the Aurora Ice Museum. The meeting sessions were focused on geothermal power applications, direct use applications, and exploration.

Among those in attendance were former Governor Steve Cowper, Tom Moyer of U.S. Senator Mark Begich's Office, two state senators and four state representatives. The Conference was sponsored by U.S. Department of Energy, Alaska Energy Authority, Alaska Center for Energy and Power, TDX Power Inc., and Chena Hot Springs Resort.
