This is intended as an instructional page for organizations wishing to report energy-related projects on the Alaska Energy Wiki.
1) Sign-up to become a member of the Alaska Energy Wiki: sign-up here.
2) After your membership is approved by the Wiki-master, you will have the ability to edit and create pages in the Alaska Energy Wiki. To report an energy project, go to the Projects page after you have signed in. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the "Edit" tab (see Figure 1).
3) Insert your project title under the appropriate category (e.g., "Wind", "Oil & Gas", etc.) in the format detailed below. Click the "Save" tab.
* **[[[Project Title]]]**
4) Click on the newly created link for your project, then click "Create page." Copy and paste the project template (available below) into the field and enter the relevant information for the project you wish to report. For help with adding photos, see the section below.
Important: Check within the Wiki for existing pages that you can link back to. For example, if your project is a wind project, you could link back to the wind resource page by using the following format within the text:
If the project takes place in a specific Alaskan community, you should link back to the community page using the above format.
*Note: Items in CAPS to be replaced with project content.
When creating a project page, copy and paste the following template and fill with the appropriate
information (if there is other information that is relevant to the project that does not necessarily
fall into one of these categories, feel free to include it under a different heading).

Special Instructions for Adding Photos
There are several ways of adding photos to a page; however, it is advised that you first upload the photo file to the Wiki. This will enable you to use the format in the template.
To upload photo files to the wiki, click on the "Files" tab at the bottom of the project page. Before selecting the photo file you wish to upload, please re-size the image or save it as a different format to decrease file size. Once you have uploaded the file to the Wiki, insert the file name into the IMAGE SOURCE section of the Project Template, insert caption and photo credit in the PHOTO CAPTION section of the template, and save the page. Once the webpage is refreshed, the photo and caption should appear in the appropriate box on the project page.
