Rural Development Initiative Fund

The Rural Development Initiative Fund is administered by Alaska Division of Investments, Dept. of Commerce, Community, Economic Development and contains loans for up to $150,000 for a single person or up to $300,000 for 2 or more people.

The fund is intended to allow for private sector employment by financing the start-up and expansion of businesses that will create significant long-term employment. Businesses in communities with populations of 5,000 people or less, that are not connected by road or rail to Anchorage or Fairbanks, or communities with populations of 2,000 or less, that are connected by road or rail to Anchorage or Fairbanks, are eligible to apply for the loans.
